The Dining Experience at Clark Quay

The Dining Experience at Clark Quay

Clark Quay. Singapore has a lot of beautiful places that you can visit, dine, and hang out. This time, my friends took me to an amazing place along the river. Sure, that is at Clark Quay famous for the numerous bars, shops, and restaurants line up along the waterway area.

You will see a lot of locals, tourists, and workers who visit the area especially at night after a hard day's work. Singaporeans are very hardworking people but they also party hard and make sure they find time to chill and relax.

Food in Singapore is exceptionally delicious. Well, you should expect that for the price you pay. Singapore dining is quite expensive so having friends in here would be a lot of help. Thanks to these two beautiful ladies for the treat at Gluttons in Marina Bay.

We had a great dining experience with a variety of food options that you can find only here in Singapore.

Singaporean locals and tourists enjoy nightly drinks at the bars in Clark Quay while enjoying the view of the river.

Whenever I visit Singapore, my friends who work here come to meet me and enjoy catching up with each other's experiences.

Dining in Singapore

Dining in Singapore

Singapore has a lot of great food to offer for every traveler. Many of the global food chains have located a branch in this city.

Restaurants abound in malls, within famous landmarks, and business areas. It is easy to meet friends in Singapore as most places around the city are interconnected with MRT trains.

The MRT Lines of Singapore

The MRT Lines of Singapore

Singapore has one of the most efficient transport systems in the world. You can get to your places of destination in the Lion City fast especially if you take one of its MRT trains. There are at least 4 MRT lines that you need to get familiarized.

The Red, Green, Yellow, and Purple line. There are some areas in Singapore that can be served by two or more MRT lines. Depending on where you come from, you can check the map the particular station nearer to your place of destination in Singapore.

Below is the map of the mrt lines of Singapore.

On the way to Changi Airport

On the way to Changi Airport

Singapore. Transportation in Singapore has always been efficient. It is easy to go to different places as trains connect tourists and locals to different points in the lion city fast and easy.

Tourists can purchase a card where he can as well top-up once the balance is not anymore sufficient. If you are visiting for few days only, you may opt to have a temporary card to be purchased at the designated ticket machines in every station.  Queuing for the train at the mrt stations is orderly and convenient. Additionally, trains arrive on time and you will see on the board the time left for the next train to arrive at the station. Make sure to know the do's and dont's at the mrt stations as cameras are everywhere. One thing for sure, chewing gum is not allowed and can be meted a huge fine. It is better to be safe.

If you are trying to catch a flight, make sure you are in the airport at least 2 hours before the scheduled departure so you will have ample time to prepare for your flight. Once you alight from the Changi Station, there is also a sky train that you can take if you want to go to other airport terminals, say Terminals 1,2, or 3 and vice-versa and you do not have to pay for the sky train. There are 3 terminals that I know, and it is pretty easy to go to any of these terminals. Check you airline's terminal.

Free WIFI at Changi Airport, Singapore

If you are only visiting friends in Singapore, it is important to be well connected online. Free wifi is available in the airport. You can ask the concierge somewhere in the middle of the hall for the username and password.

Food shops and shopping stalls are also seen in the corners if you want to have a last-minute shopping for your family and friends back in your home country. You can stay in the airport even for long hours while waiting for your flight.

I was going back to Manila, Philippines at this time and the flight took me 3 hours and 35 minutes approximately but I believe I was asleep the entire time. I was taking Jetstar and I need to depart from Terminal 1 of Changi Airport in Singapore.

Few days before your flight, you can as well Manage Your Booking,

Singapore's Most Famous Landmarks

Singapore's Most Famous Landmarks

Marina Bay, Singapore. With the creativity of my friend Mae Ann, she was able to direct a shot having this good angle to capture the Marina Bay Sands and Merlion.

Everyone should watch the Laser Show at the Marina Bay.

A Spectacular Night watching Marina Bay's Laser Show

Marina Bay, Singapore. One of the best things to witness in Singapore is the Laser Show right at the Marina Bay. Tourists and locals look forward to enjoying this unique and exciting show that Singapore has to offer.

Visitor Center along Orchard Road

Visitor Center along Orchard Road

Orchard Road, Singapore. One of the unique building designs though simple is Singapore's Visitor Center which is located along Orchard Road in Singapore. The huge letters are not just uncommon but at the same time attractive.

Orchard Road is one of the most famous streets in the Lion City and shopaholics just love this area as popular global brands line up the street with their respective boutique and shops.

In the Philippines, the concept behind Orchard Road is also one of the future inspirations on the street adjacent to the Solinea Condominium located within the Cebu Business Park in Cebu City where the upscale Ayala Center Cebu is also situated.

Solinea Condominium is a prime development of AyalaLand, Inc. in the Philippines, one of the country's leading real estate developers.

Mustafa Centre, 24-hour shop in Singapore

Mustafa Centre, 24-hour shop in Singapore

Little India, Singapore. Great deals can be found here at the Mustafa Centre in Singapore.

If you want to shop for some affordable goods, gadgets, or clothing in Singapore, Mustafa Centre is the place to go. It opens 24 hours and when I went here, there were also several Filipino sales ladies and attendants.

It was funny when I called one of the sales ladies 'Auntie' (as Singaporeans call older ladies Auntie, i think so) yet she replied I'm not your Auntie, don't call me Auntie. I just smiled at her, I think she was a Filipina.

There is also a money changer here. Since the place is in Little India, you will find yourself surrounded with several Indians here. If Indian cuisine is something that you crave for, try roaming around the area and surely you will find one.

Getting There

There is an MRT Station linked to a mall called City Mall. Mustafa Centre is just walking distance. Farrer Park MRT Station seems to be the nearest station.

You can also take a bus along Jalan Besar Road. Mustafa Centre should be somewhere near Jalan Besar.

If you are taking the bus along Jalan Besar in the Little India area, where you can also find several affordable guest houses, you can stop near Kitchener Road intersection. There is a bus stop in that area.

For a helpful and handy map, you can check out gothere.sg.

Chinatown, Singapore

Chinatown, Singapore

Chinatown, Singapore. In almost every country in Asia, there is always a place called Chinatown. And, Singapore is no exception to that. Being a country of diverse culture, the Chinese comprise the major group of locals here.

The best time to go in Chinatown Singapore is during the celebration of the Chinese New Year sometime in February. You get to taste different kinds of pika pika food. Bazaar and variety of booths are lined up on the streets for you to choose from.
